Resend

Resend sends email. The app uses it to send a sign-in code. There is no text-message sign-in.

  1. Open resend.com in a new tab.
  2. Click Sign up. Use the same church email if you can.
  3. Open the confirm email and click the link.
  4. Click API Keys.
  5. Create a key. Name it smallchurch.
  6. Copy the key once into your notebook. In Netlify this name is RESEND_API_KEY. Resend will not show it again.

Paste the keys into Netlify

You now have four accounts. Put the notebook values into Netlify so the website can use them.

  1. Open your site in Netlify.
  2. Open Project configuration, then Environment variables.
  3. Add NEXT_PUBLIC_SUPABASE_URL and paste the Project URL.
  4. Add NEXT_PUBLIC_SUPABASE_PUBLISHABLE_KEY and paste the anon key.
  5. Add SUPABASE_SERVICE_ROLE_KEY and paste the service_role key.
  6. Add RESEND_API_KEY and paste the Resend key.
  7. Trigger a new deploy and wait until it says Ready.

You can send test mail to your own inbox on the free plan. To mail the whole church, you later add your church domain in Resend. That can wait.

The database tables are still empty. The first admin is not named yet. If your chat tool can load skills, use the smallchurch CHMS skill. If it cannot, download the skill and paste it.

Do not point a real congregation at this copy until you can sign in, see a fake directory, and download a CSV.
