Netlify
Netlify turns your GitHub copy into a website people can open. Members will use this site. You will paste secret keys into it after the next two pages.
- Open netlify.com in a new tab.
- Click Sign up.
- Choose Sign up with GitHub. Netlify needs to see your GitHub copy.
- If GitHub asks, allow Netlify to see your repositories. A repository is a folder of files.
- Click Add new site, then Import an existing project.
- Choose GitHub. Click your smallchurch-chms copy.
- Leave the build settings as they are. A file named netlify.toml already tells Netlify what to do.
- Click the deploy button. Wait for the first run to finish.
The first deploy may fail. That is expected. You have not given Netlify the database keys yet. Come back after Resend and paste them.
Write the Netlify site name in your notebook. Example: a name that ends in netlify.app. You can add your own church web address later.
